IKO Shingles Lawsuit

If you’re considering an IKO Shingles lawsuit, you may be wondering whether this product is faulty. You may have heard about premature blistering, cracking, and air and water infiltration, but you’re not sure if these issues are real or caused by a manufacturing defect. These shingles also cost more than competing products. If you have purchased IKO shingles in the past, you may be eligible for a class action lawsuit. Read on to learn more about this type of lawsuit.

IKO shingles are prone to premature blistering, tearing, cracking

IKO shingle manufacturers claim their shingles are free from manufacturing defects and conform to building codes. But, they don’t meet the standards of a durable roofing system. Premature blistering, tearing, cracking, delamination, and adhesion are some of the common problems faced by IKO shingles. This causes them to lose their adhesion and degrade prematurely, causing damage to the components of the building and its property inside.

The main reason that shingles are prone to cracking, tearing, and blistering is due to inadequate ventilation. Improper ventilation traps moist air under the shingles. This moisture eventually evaporates and rises to the surface of the shingle, creating bubble-like blisters. The cracks or blisters can be very dangerous, exposing the underlayment of the roof.

They are prone to air and water infiltration

IKO shingles have a poor rating among consumers. The company was impacted by the widespread failures of organic shingles. The organic-base mat in shingles was replaced with a fiberglass one industry-wide. The company was the target of class action lawsuits in the US and Canada but has improved the formulation of its shingles. But consumers should beware of the manufacturer’s flimsy warranties and warning labels.

IKO Shingles are prone to wind-driven rain and air and water infiltration. To prevent such problems, IKO recommends installing a zone of Ice & Water protection under shingled roofs. The shingle’s granules are glued to the asphalt surface with a proprietary synthetic rubber adhesive. The granules also help to protect the asphalt coating against ultraviolet rays and inhibit the growth of blue-green algae. In addition, the company offers two mid-range products, ArmourGard and GoldShield.

They don’t perform under the highest standards

While IKO is known for its high-quality shingles, its wind-resistant properties have been criticized by consumers. Despite the company’s claims, several homeowners have experienced blow-offs of their roofing shingles. Although their shingles are designed to withstand 130 mph winds, many homeowners report that they’ve experienced significant blow-offs of their roofing shingles. This problem has led IKO to face multiple warranty claims and even class action lawsuits in the US and Canada.

If you are considering installing an IKO roof, it’s best to find out what the best way to protect your roof is. There are several reasons that IKO shingles don’t meet the highest standards. In some cases, improper installation, ventilation problems, and multiple layers of shingles can cause curling of the shingles. Furthermore, IKO shingles don’t hold moisture well, leading to splintering during warmer months. A customer even reported that IKO shingles had lost granules after 14 years, and when she contacted their warranty company, she was told to contact the manufacturer to claim for the shingles.

They cost more than other shingles

If you’re renovating or building a new home, you’ll likely want to upgrade your shingles with IKO shingle materials. These shingles come with many benefits, including good weather protection and long-lasting performance. As with any type of roofing material, the price of IKO shingles varies widely depending on the materials and features that you choose. As such, you should carefully research the cost of IKO shingles before making your final decision.

The price tag for IKO shingles can run into the thousands. This is because there are different colors and styles available. Because of the many features and benefits of these shingles, you’ll need to know the right questions to ask yourself before deciding to replace your roof. Thankfully, IKO offers several warranties on their shingles, so you can rest easy knowing that your roof will be covered in the event of damage.

They have a poor rating among roofers

IKO Shingles have a poor reputation among roofers for several reasons. Their limited lifetime warranties are worthless, and their customer support is lacking. Some customers report that their IKO shingles blew off in 20 mph winds. The shingles didn’t adhere properly and lacked glue to stay in place. In addition, IKO’s customer service department is notoriously slow to respond to warranty requests.

While IKO has a relatively poor reputation among roofers and consumers, their Cambridge and Dynasty lines have been placed on a recommended list for 2021. In the tests, these lines were up against the performance class shingles. In six out of nine categories, the shingle earned full marks, including durability. The company says the improvements have improved its products. But it remains a poor choice for many roofers.

They are not a high-quality alternative

IKO shingles are advertised as being nearly impervious to the elements, but the truth is, they’re not. IKO’s reputation for low quality and poor customer satisfaction isn’t helped by the fact that many customers have filed lawsuits against the company over defective shingles, which they promptly discontinued. Another problem with IKO shingles is that their tar lines don’t melt as well as competitors’. While IKO does advertise its shingles as being resistant to 110 mph winds, many customers have complained about the lack of quality and customer service.

The main reason why IKO shingles aren’t high-quality is that they are more affordable. While you can find similar-looking shingles in other brands, IKO’s Armourshake shingles are the biggest and heaviest. They are made to replicate the classic look of wood shakes without the price tag. They’re also fire-resistant and don’t require regular maintenance.

Started curling up around 2020 and now it’s really bad the shingles are called Chateau and are supposed to last 35 years. I have 14 squares on the roof. They told me they would credit me 9 bundles of shingles or 245.00. I thought they would give me at least 1,000,00. Never going to do business with them again.

  4. New construction of our home in 1999 with IKO Chateau 35 year shingles. Shingles cracked, curled and lost granules and had to be replaced whole roof in 2014. I would like to join any class action suit against IKO to reimburse for our loss.
